House considers impeaching President Trump for second time

12

The House of Representatives convened Wednesday to vote to impeach President Donald Trump on one count of incitement of insurrection, one week after a mob of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol building in an effort to block Congress reaffirming President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.

The article of impeachment, introduced Monday by House Democrats, accuses Mr. Trump of "willfully inciting violence against the government of the United States" in violation of his constitutional oath and duty. If the House approves the measure, which it is expected to do, Mr. Trump will be the only president in U.S. history to be impeached twice.
