Say her name: Breonna Taylor’s family agree procedural reforms in deal with mayor

Officials in Louisville, Kentucky, have agreed to pay $12m (£9.3m) to the family of Breonna Taylor, a black woman who was killed in her home by police.

Ms Taylor was woken from her bed before being shot several times.

No drugs were found at her home and the killing sparked months of protests in the city as the Attorney General of the state considers what happens next.

The deal will also see changes to the approval process and execution of search warrants, the hiring of social workers in the force and a commitment to increase drug and alcohol testing of officers involved in any shooting.
